In January we attended the 2024 Bett Awards in London. It was great to hear about so many different organisations and the exciting work happening in the EdTech space.
We are delighted to have won the 2024 Bett Award for Educational Resource for Parents or Home Learning with our digital reading log.
The judges said “Reading with Parents provides an outstanding contribution to supporting schools to build a bridge of opportunity for positive parental engagement, fostering positive home-school links.”
We are thrilled that our reading log has been recognised for its impact and its potential for building parental engagement within school communities.
How the reading log works
Our reading log replaces paper reading logs with a digital solution that makes it easier for both parents and schools to keep track of reading.
Using the digital reading log, parents and teachers record meaningful audio clips, comments and photos to track a child’s reading journey. This creates a powerful link between school and home.
You can read more about the log and see a short video explanation of how it works for teachers and families here.
What teachers say
“It’s a lot more enjoyable because you can look at photos and audio clips. I can look at everything that is going on. There have been some children going to the museum and reading at the museum. When I see this on the platform, I then catch children, and families, at the gate to celebrate what they have been recording on the reading log.” – Emma Wilson, Camestone Primary School
“All of the hours the librarian used to spend checking the reading journals she now spends the time reading with children who are not getting reading at home.” – Steve Sutton, Yorkmead Primary School
“We are able to monitor and see (engagement) quickly. At a glance you are able to see who has read and who has not read.” – Lucy Darnell, Shortstown Primary School
